Excellent site. Very good info well stated. I am building a foam/balsa 50\" aerobat with symmetrical wings from nastytoesaviation.com and was concerned about the thickness. Your site has calmed my fears. It should be perfect. Thanks for the site!

"I just discovered your site. This is really great stuff! Concerning making your own plywood, I have discovered a pretty good technique. Use laminations (as many as required to complete your work) of 1/16 balsa with 1/64 aircraft ply. The ply is available at Michaels Stores. The result is light tough stuff !!"

"Thank for creating such a great site. I used to build free flight gliders and rubber band models in my teens. I had most of the fun from designing and building. Apart from crashing a couple of models on their maiden flights I have no experience with rc. Now many years later I am designing a 3 channel (rudder elevator and throtel) plane around an Os Max 10 LA 0.1 ( which I bought from the only model store here in the island). I bought the engine because it looked really nice and cheap, but that was probably not the best place to start . Anyways it was good fun running-in. I am using mostly your site for design reference and I find it as being the best and easiest to browse I came across. Congratulations, I am sure there is a lot of work involved. I want the plane I am building to have the characteristics of a trainer. I opted for a classical high wing design, ClarkX wing section and nothing fancy. I want the fuselage to be buit up (at least from the wing trailing edge to the back). I dont\'t really know how much plane weight a .1 engine can pull to the air and I am strugling with crash resistence and weight compromises. I have the outlines already designed. I came up with a wing span of 52\" which I think could be too much for this size engine. The aspect ratio is 5:1 at the root and 6.5:1 at the tip. Dihedral is 7º. I want it just to fly around smothly, no need for areobatics. If it\'s not pushing it too much have a question... What kind of weight do you think a .1 engine can pull to the air? I would like it to take off from grass. (bad previous experiences at throwing). Although I would like it to fly I can take a crash like a man and go back to drwaing board. A few years back, before I moved to Madeira, I was living in England. There I went once to see a big show/competition with planes from all over Europe.It took place at an Airforce airport with lots of runnways and room for thousands of people. There were I saw all sorts of model planes. Pulse engine, gas turbine, electric, etc... Lots of stunts. I bought a tiger moth kit there but unfortunately it was lost on a move when it was half way built... I know the feeling. Since then this is my first attempt to build a plane. "Thanks for a great page. I served in Kosovo with the 82nd Airborne (1999-2000). I lived in Mogila nearly the entire time, and the unit you photographed there relieved us. I recognize the kids down at the school, and I even miss those night patrols past that broken down red combine at the bottom of the hill. I have always wanted to go back to see what it looks like now....at least I know what it looked like a few months after I left thanks to your photos. Thanks again!"
