Step Four Main Drive Gear Assembly

  • This step is on page 7 of the Instruction Manual.

The parts bag for step four. The parts bag for this assembly.
Parts for step four. Remove the one way clutch shaft from the one way clutch housing. The one way clutch shaft comes inside the one way clutch housing.  Remove it.
Apply loctite and thread the four screws holding the one way clutch housing to the gears. Place a drop of Loctite on each bolt and in the threads of the one way clutch housing.
Add the snap ring farthest from the end of the one way clutch shaft. If you have a set of snap ring pliers this will be much easier.  I don't have a set and used a set of round needle nose pliers to spread the ring.

If this ring comes off then your heli is doomed.  Be sure it is fully seated in the groove.

Slide the one way clutch shaft into the one way clutch housing. Note which end is which. Insert the one way clutch shaft through the gears.  Note which end is which.
Add the other snap ring to the one way clutch shaft. Another snap ring holds the shaft in place.
The completed Main Drive Gear Assembly. With the snap ring in place, the Main Drive Gear is completely assembled.
