 This web site is the absolutely best place to get solid info for aspiring model builders or even ARF bashers.

Now there is a place I can send new modelers to for the how to.

Those of us in the hobby, are finding less and less folks delving into building AND flying R/C airplanes. We'd hoped the electrics would inspire interest in Model Aviation, but even that branch has become exorbitantly expensive. Batteries are expensive and dangerous.

 I HAVE JUST NOW LOOKED UP YOUR SITE LOOKING FOR VERIFCATION OF THE MAC LOCATION PROCEDURE AND FIND THAT THERE IS AN ERROR IN THE ELLIPSE INFO. IN MY YEARS OF AERO RESEARCH CAREER, I HAVE BEEN TAUGHT THAT THE MAC PASSES THROUGH THE CENTROID OF THE WING PLANFORM,(THE CENTER OF ITS AREA)-- THE SPANWISE DIMENTION SHOWN IS MORE THAT HALFWAY OUT. THAT'S AN IMPOSIBILITY AS SIMPLE OBSERVATION SHOWS THAT THE INBOARD PORTION HAS MORE AREA THAN THE OUTBOARD. NOT EQUAL IN AREA AS THE CENTROID POSITION SHOULD SPLIT THE AREA ! MY CALCULATIONS SHOW A DISTANCE OUT FROM THE ROOT CHORD TO BE .424%. THIS IS BASED ON THE CENTROID OF A CIRCLE SEGMENT, SINCE AN ELLIPSE IS IN FACT BASED ON CIRCLE THEORY. -- PLEASE COMMENT. JFS

 I have been built several RC kits over the past 20 plus years and enjoyed searching these articles on building techniques and tools. I have built three 60 size war birds. What I would like is plans to construct a scale cockpit for a war bird. Some how the cockpit just does not look scale with a bust of the pilot glued on a platform. Anyone having info on constructing a cockpit, please let me know.

 Thank you for the info on hinges. I am building a 1/2a scale Guillows Mess. bf 109. This thing is my first build, and I was enjoying it, up till I tried to use the crappy fabric hinges (twice).Well anyway, thanks.
